Doris Eckermann Obituary
Val Verde, TX the daughter of William Lee Latham and Minnie Mae (Williamson) Latham. She married Calvin M. Eckermann on December 22, 1947. Doris was a school teacher, having taught at Middle School and elementary levels. She loved to sew, cook, garden and play bridge. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include:
Sons: Terry Eckermann and wife Linda of Lampasas, TX
Richard Eckermann of Lampasas, TX
Daughters: Peggy Roth and husband Thomas of Brownwood, TX
Paula Cox and husband Joe of Temple, TX
10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband and by 2 brothers; Woodrow and Billy Latham and by 3 sisters; Leoloa Pryor, Yvonne Wallace, Carrie Honeycutt and by her great-granddaughter, Joelle Atkins.
Visitation will be Friday July 7, 2017 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services for Doris Eckermann will be held on Saturday July 8, 2017 at1:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Holland Cemetery in Holland, TX.
Memorials can be made to the Lampasas Nursing and Rehab, the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.

Such a wonderful lady. I will always treasure the time we spent sharing our love of the old hymns of our youth, even though the times we recalled were miles and decades apart. As her memory fled, she would still sing the tunes and the choruses in perfect pitch. And now she is singing to Jesus, face to face!
