Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Helen "Dot" Eubanks were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home with the Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Interment followed at Christ Church Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, August 21 at the funeral home.

Doris Helen Eubanks was born April 25, 1925 in Bogalusa to the late Otis Breland and Viola Coyne Breland. She passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Alpine Guest Care Center in Ruston.

Ms. Dot was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bastrop where she served faithfully as a member of the United Methodist Women (UMW). She was also a longtime member of the church choir, Circle 2, and a member of the Faith Sunday school class. Mrs. Eubanks was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over fifty years, a volunteer for over twenty-five years with the Ladies Auxiliary at Morehouse General Hospital, and a retired Registered Nurse with the Garnier Clinic in Bastrop.

Mrs. Eubanks was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William John "Billy" Eubanks; and a son-in-law, Gary Knight.
Mrs. Eubanks is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Knight Burt and her husband, Charles Burt of Ruston; a granddaughter, Chasity Knight Vandegevel and her husband Bobby Vandegeval of Sterlington; two grandsons, Matthew Knight of Bastrop and Lance Knight and his wife, Terri Knight of Monroe; eight great-grandchildren, Samuel Gilbert, Tristan Vandegevel, Morgan Vandegevel,
Katlyn Knight, Kaleb Knight, Kasey Knight, Brianna Knight, and Ella Knight; and a sister, Mary Ann Miller of Jackson.

Serving as pallbearers were Matthew Knight, Lance Knight, Tristan Vandegevel, Bobby Vandegevel, Charles Burt, and Alton Smith. Honorary pallbearers were the Brothers of the Eastern Star, T.G. Kimball, Ed Henry, Billy Ferschoff, Louis Floyd, Dub Hopkins, and Dr. John Coats.

For those who wish the family suggest memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 222 South Washington Street, Bastrop, LA 71220 or to the Methodist Children's Home, 901 South Vienna, Ruston, LA 71270.
