Doris Fredricksen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 6, 2025.
MADISON - A lover of family, God, and games, Doris Mae Fredricksen (Lunde) departed this earth on February 3, 2025.

Her life held the traditional roles of war-wife and at-home mom of five, and her heart had boundless love for her family, her community, and her faith.

Doris was born the oldest daughter to Amanda and Gerhardt Lunde on April 4, 1925. She graduated from Madison East High in 1943. On December 9, 1945, she married Ira "Flare" Fredricksen Jr., which started their life with five children filled with scouting, camping, church, and golf.

Throughout child-raising, work, play and volunteering, she showed kindness in everything she did. Her eyes lit up when she saw you and was a hugger. She made you feel part of the community - whether it be at Oakwood East, in Plymouth or Madison.

The Fredricksen family tree remains strong with children, Kristi Sullivan, Leif Fredricksen, Eric Fredricksen, Karin Cameron and Kirsten Mork; her 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

At 99 years loved, Doris outlived her parents; brother, Karel Lunde; and sister, Anne Staie; and many special friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband; great-granddaughter, Maggie Nickel; and two sons-in-law, Chris Mork and Bob Cameron.

A celebration of Doris' life will be held at OAKWOOD VILLAGE EAST CHAPEL, 5565 Tancho Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be expressing our gratitude to her supportive caregivers through the Oakwood Foundation and the Agrace Foundation with any monetary memorials.
