Doris Glidden

Glidden, Doris (Borgrud) Age 82, of Bloomington, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at Alterra Clairebridge in Eden Prairie. Doris was born March 28, 1928 in Evansville, to Freeman and Alice Leona (Melby) Borgrud. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and graduated from Evansville High School. Doris was united in marriage to Loverine Julian Kolkind on November 1, 1947 in Evansville. They lived in Davenport, ND where her husband operated a grain elevator. They moved to Madison, SD where they lived for a year prior to moving to Minneapolis. In 1965 they moved to Bloomington where she made her home. Loverine died July 19, 1982. She later married Vernon Glidden. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and spending time with family and friends. And she was a member of the Bloomington Twirlers and Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield. Survivors include sons, John (Jill) Kolkind of Bloomington, James (Gayle) Kolkind of Brooklyn Park; daughter-in-law, Cindy Kolkind of Bloomington; grandchildren, Jeremy, Laurel, Kenneth, Jessie, Andrew, Megan, Michael; great-grandchildren, Kole and Julia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Loverine Kolkind and Vernon Glidden; son, David in 2009; two brothers, Marlin and Alvin Borgrud. Funeral Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11 am at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Evansville. Visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Clergy Rev. Dennis Preston. Interment Mound Grove Cemetery, Evansville.
