Doris Goebel

Doris Goebel, 91 peacefully passed away on Thursday April 17, 2025, at her home in Billings, MT with family by her side.

Memorial Services are Monday, May 5, 2025, at 3:00 pm at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Billings, Montana with Pastor Ben Quanbeck officiating. Coffee and cookies will follow the service for a time of fellowship and sharing. Doris will be laid to rest in the Sidney Cemetery in Sidney, Montana in a graveside service later in the week. Doris Moore Goebel was born December 7th,1933 to Phillip and Carrie Moore in Beach, ND, joining a sister (Barbara) Carol. Doris grew up on the family ranch near Trotters, ND and graduated from Beach High School in 1951. She attended Valley City Teacher's College and taught at country schools until marrying Darrell Goebel on May 29th,1954 at Pella Lu-theran Church in Sidney, MT.

She joined Darrell in Hawaii where he was stationed while in the Army. They then returned to civilian life in Sidney to raise their three children. Doris worked for many years as the Rich-land County Fair and Rodeo Secretary and then Manager. Doris and Darrell were members of Pella Lutheran Church, serving in many roles through the years. Doris treasured the strong foundation and faith of her parents and passed that faith along to her own children. Her faith brought comfort and hope during the trials of life, including losing her sister Carol in 1976 and her husband, Darrell in 2019.

Doris passed away peacefully at her home in Billings with family surrounding her. Doris is survived by her daughters Dawn Minder and Darcy (Pete) Prevost, her son Daren (MiSuk) Goebel all of Billings; her grandchildren Phillip (Ali) Minder, Clara (Kyle) Bayne, and Madelyn Prevost all of Billings, Anna Prevost of Moab,Utah, and Nick Goebel of Washington; her great grandchildren Everett Minder and Hazel Minder of Billings. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Goebel, her sister Carol Simonsen, brother-in-law Con Si-monsen, and son-in-law George Minder.
