Doris Jean Holden, born January 10, 1959, the late daughter of the late Lucious Holden, Jr and Mary Ruth Martin Holden. She was educated in the public school system of Rockdale County. During her school years she was involved in many activities that included basketball, softball and band. Doris believed in Christ and was baptized at an early age at James Paschal Baptist Church. She later joined New Beginning Full Gospel Ministries where she served faithfully. Doris had one son, Martin R. Humphrey, who proceeded her in death.
Doris devoted her life to caring for children, as she worked diligently for Childcare Network for over 25 years as a director of centers in Conyers, GA and the last years in Lawrenceville, GA. She enjoyed being with family and friends. Doris believed in helping the community in all capacities. Her most passionate hobbies were shopping, traveling, and baking.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters Mary Moore (Gary) and Marlene Holden, two brothers Dexter Holden and Mark Holden (Ranise), God daughter Daneka Smith, one Aunt Betty Gaither (Rev. Edward Gaither), devoted nieces Syreeta, Anitra, Nikki, and Destiny, great nieces, nephew’s great nephews, longtime friend Lois Maddox, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
