Doris Jean Hardy Kent

Mrs. Doris Jean Hardy Kent, age 74, of Slocomb, Ala., passed away Oct. 6, 2011. She was born Oct. 21, 1936 in Munson, Fla., to Dewey and Gladys Coogle Hardy.

Mrs. Kent was Christian by faith and a member of Christ Church International in Dothan, Ala. She worked as a Church Secretary for many years before retiring. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Mrs. Kent is preceded in death by her father and mother and one infant son, Michael Webb.

Mrs. Kent is survived by four daughters, Candy Meadows and husband Gayle, Crystal Stone and husband Toby, Carrie Webb Jones and Mona Schoonover and husband Chip; two brothers, Dodson Hardy and wife Gail, and Tim Hardy; and one sister, Evelyn McLin and husband Ray. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Julie, Jaclyn, Amy, John, Crystal, Mandy, Bradley, Caitlyn and Stephanie; 10 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Cole, Melanie, Brock, Miles, Blake, Nate, Hailey, Sarah and Ryder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue; DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Toby Stone and Billy Grant officiating.

Graveside Services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 at the Johnson Cemetery in Munson, Florida.
