Died Sunday, October 8, 2023, aged 100 years old. Predeceased by her husband, Tom Knecht. Survived by her two children, Tom (Tori) Knecht and Cyndi Knecht. Granddaughter Jaime (JC) Karwick and great grandson Noah Simpson Also survived by her sister, Gloria (Wettlaufer) Hagan, goddaughters Karen Attard and Lori (Wettlaufer) Hayes and many loving nieces and nephews. Service to be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023 at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church.27475 5 Mile Road, Livonia

Mrs. Knecht was my kindergarten teacher in 1974 at McNair elementary. She was a kind, and I loved her. May you rest easy Mrs. Knecht

I had Mrs. Knecht as my kindergarten teacher at McNair elementary in 1979/1980. She was really nice. I remember sitting on the floor of the room while she read to us, the art projects for holidays...good memories! My sister had her the following year for kindergarten after McNair closed and everyone got moved to Thorne elementary.

Dear Doris invited me to sit with her when I was first at St. Paul's and we touched bases every Sunday in her kind, pleasant, warm manner. We sent Christmas cards after I left St. Paul's and I was delighted to hear of her 100 years. My sympathy to all who will dearly miss her.
