Doris Peterson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 22, 2008.
PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. — Doris Anderson Peterson, a native of Pawtucket, R.I., passed away on Oct. 17, 2008, in Palos Verdes Estates. She was delighted to have recently celebrated her 100th birthday with small parties in Carmel and Southern California.

Following her high school graduation, Doris attended secretarial school and then worked for an insurance company and also as a dental assistant.

Doris' early years were spent in New England, Wisconsin and New Jersey before moving to Danville in 1957. She and her late husband retired to Pebble Beach in 1969 and, beginning in 1978, they enjoyed spending their summers on Cape Cod.

Doris was a member of the Church of the Wayfarer in Carmel, where she was active with the United Methodist Women.

Doris' greatest love was her family. She leaves her daughters, Mary Lou (Charles) Erikson of Palos Verdes Estates, and Sylvia Terzich of Gardnerville, Nev.; grandchildren, Thor Erikson of Gig Harbor, Wash., Brittney Bryant of Houston, Texas, Kimberly Johnson of Coppell, Texas, and Sam Terzich of Imperial, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Arthur, preceded her in death in 1990.

Funeral services will be held at The Little Chapel by-the-Sea on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m., followed by burial at El Carmelo Cemetery, both in Pacific Grove.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Church of the Wayfarer, P.O. Box 2205, Carmel, CA 93901.

Oh, how we already miss that wonderful laugh and beautiful smile. Most missed will be the positive attitude and words of wisdom she gave us. We loved her like our own; we will miss her. Donna & Mike
