Doris Isaac Rabinowitz

Like my brother Stuart, seeing and hearing Doris always brought a smile to my face and a song in my heart - she was that kind of person. I can picture her now and smiling again!

Ms. Doris was one of the first people to greet me. She met me on my way in to apply for a job. She always had a happy attitude. "Sorrow is not forever - Love is."

Steven and Norma, I just saw the news of your mother's passing. It's been a long time since we all lived in the old neighborhood, but I wanted to just reach out to say the Birch girls - Peggy, Irene, Anne and I, are sorry for your loss. May God heal your grieving hearts and hold your mother close.

We knew Doris so well as one of the bright lights at Carlyle Place. She was a bundle of enthusiasm and was very talented. We have missed her since she moved to California, and feel that the world now has lost a special treasured soul. We send our sympathy and prayers to her family.

I knew Doris the few short years she lived here at Carlyle Place. She was such a joy and had me doubled over laughing. I missed her so when she left. Call if there is anything I can do for you or your family. Call me at home or here at work.

We both remember Doris and her many smile provoking comments and her ability to literally light up any occasion with her presence. Doris and I were in the band, in the eight grade, both of us playing the clarinet, we would playfully argue about who was the worst player, truth was we were both pretty bad. My wife and I remember Doris's comment at our 45th reunion when responding to our comment Doris you look great. She said: "Honey, this is as good as I've looked in a long time". That was Doris. She was a special lady and we will miss her.

Doris was a customer of our Mother's, Hilda Gunn, for alterations back in the 80's. She was always very cheerful and a bright spot, arriving frequently, being pleasant and upbeat in her red mustang. Our heartfelt condolences to this woman's family, she was an uplifting presents.

I met Doris as a customer at the frame shop where I worked and I always looked forward to designing something with her. She was so funny and entertaining. Even though I have not seen her in several years, knowing that she has passed on makes me miss her. You, the family, have my sympathy and prayers.
