Doris N. Tooley

Doris Nell Tooley passed away Friday, March 2 at an Austin hospital following several months if illness. She was with us for 80 years; born April 15, 1931 to Lem and Allzena Mae Anderson in Haskell County near Rule, Texas.

Doris was a state employee 35 years, with the Attorney General three years and 32 years in the Court of Criminal Appeals as administrative assistant for two judges. She graduated from Rule High School om 1948, attended Draughn's Business College in Abilene, Texas, worked for the Haskell County clerk and later as City secretary for the City of Rule.

Doris was a member of the Central church of Christ of Pflugerville. She taught a Ladies' Class and published Truth for Teens, a bi-monthly magazine for teenagers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tommy. Survivors include her husband Kenneth Tooley of Austin; daughter, Andrea Kay Harty and husband Bill of Naples, FL; three sons: Kent Tooley, Kevin Tooley and wife Linda and Kirk Tooley and wife Lori; all of Pflugerville; two sisters: Ruby Barbee of Abilene, TX and Opal Yarbrough of Imperial, TX; eight grandchildren; three nieces and seven nephews.

Pallbearers are Kasey Tooley, Brandon Tooley, Bobby Harty, Justin Dyke, Cody Westbrook and Alfie Saligumba.

Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, March 7 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Visitation will be held from 6 PM - 8 PM, Tuesday, March 6 at Cook Walden Capital Parks.
