I just learned of Dorit's passing. I remember seeing Dorit Galor and her family in the 1960s at Hanukah parties in St. Louis with other cousins. I am sorry for your loss.

I met Dorit while building card houses with Ori and Aviva on the kitchen floor on the flat at 71xx Amherst. She was my teacher and later my friend.

I met Dorit on a plane headed to St. Louis and we became friends. We met for lunch often and talked about Israel and my faith in Jesus. They were spirited conversations and we developed a love for one another. She was the first reader of a book I had written and was an encouragement to me. I’ve been thinking of her recently because of the war in Israel and was sad to know I had missed talking to her. She was a delight and I’m so glad I got to know her,

Our sympathy to your family. My father Louis Lander was a first cousin of Dorit and my mother Edna Lander and Dorit enjoyed cousins lunches with Bea Lander and others years ago. She had so many wonderful traits and skill. We were fortunate to know Dorit.

Dear Orie, Donny and Vivi,
I was shocked to see that your mom has passed. Thank you for putting it in the Light. I have such fond memories of her, especially all the Shabbat lunches she welcomed me to way back when. She was so warm (and good at scrabble).
It was wonderful to read about her lifelong commitment to social justice and education. May her memory be an inspiration.
Love, Rhonda
