Dorothea Huffman Runyon Doty, 94, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed with family by her side on Tuesday afternoon October 10, 2023.

Dorothea lived a full and beautiful life. She was born on May 3, 1929, to James R. and Tom E Huffman, in

Pikeville, Kentucky. Dorothea graduated from Pikeville Academy School and was a long-time employee of the telephone company, Bell South (now AT&T) retiring in 1982. After retirement she spent the next

several years selling real estate and working as a part-time teller in Lexington, Kentucky.

Dorothea spent the last forty plus years taking adventures and splitting her time between Kentucky and

Florida. Dorothea loved gardening, was an avid puzzler, and impressive bingo player. Dorothea was

spirited. She loved the Lord with all her heart and adored her family.

She is survived by her children, Richard Burton Huffman, Linda Runyon Justice, Carolyn Runyon Bentley

(Claude), Edwin Keith Runyon Jr. (Kathy), Bennett Tyler Doty, and Amy Catherine Doty; 12 grandchildren;

22 great grandchildren; her siblings, Thomas Webb Huffman (Debbie), Bruce Huffman (Vada), Sarah

Cook, and Ardith Davis; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends including her dear friends

Helena Lemon and Phyllis Castle.

Dorothea was preceded in death by her late husbands, Eagle Doty and Edwin Keith Runyon; her parents,

James R. and Tom E Huffman; and her brothers James Richard Huffman and Robert Dana Huffman.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Winchester First United

Methodist Church in Winchester, Kentucky until the time of service at 1:00PM. To sign the online guestbook visit www.ScobeeFuneralHome.com.

A burial will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Pikeville, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be John Martin Phillips, Bruce Huffman, Ben Runyon, Landon Runyon, Kaiden Drybrough, and Keynan Prentice. Honorary Pallbearer will be Levi Runyon.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to donate to the Winchester First United Methodist Church and/or

Hospice East both in Winchester, Kentucky.
