Dorothy Blackard Obituary
Dorothy Geneva Yarbrough Blackard, age 75, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday with Rev. James Sanders officiating. Burial in the Alec Yarbrough Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 til 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. til 1 p.m. on Monday.
Mrs. Blackard was born in Montgomery County, TN on March 11, 1936 to the late Harry Eugene and Jennie Ruth Black Yarbrough. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen H. Blackard; sister, Patsy Jo Schrimpshire; brother, Frank Yarbrough.
She was retired from Acme Boot Company and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Glen Darrell (Mindy) Blackard, Tammy Schrimpshire Garcia, Buddy Schrimpshire and Gene (Lara) Schrimpshire; sister, Freddie (Bobby) Lyle; loving nephews and nieces; grandchildren, Dylan, Dusty, Kristi, JC, Brandi; three great grandchildren; grandma to many great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Josh Lyle, Eli Ray, Clydel Burney, Stonewall Jackson, Jeff Wright, Donald Neblett, James Mickle and Ronnie Baggett.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church Family Life Center Fund.

Grandma, I will always miss you, every second of every day! You have been one of the most significant people in my life, and the only grandmother I've ever known. I thank God every day for allowing me to spend this last year with you. I will miss going to Sunday school with you. Most of all, I will miss your hugs and your company, and your adorable little laugh. I LOVE YOU, GRANDMA!!

Darrell and Mindy,I was so sorry to hear about Ms Geneva. I really loved her, and thought alot of her. She reminded me so much of my own grandmother. I really enjoyed the times I got to see her. Know you all are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you Ms Geneva! Til we meet again!
