Dorothy Gratzinger

Dorothy "Dolly" (Jacak) Gratzinger, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Excela Health-Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Gratzinger was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Legutcki Jacak. Mrs. Gratzinger was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and the former Transfiguration Parish. Dolly was a 1945 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. She had been employed by the former Acme Store and Foodland Stores in Mt. Pleasant and the Hopwood Foodland. Dolly was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Ladies and the Water Lillies. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, William E. Gratzinger; her devoted daughter, Deborah Gratzinger; by her grandchildren, Andre Martin and Candice Martin; and by her great-granddaughter, Layla Martin. In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her sisters, Bridget Jacak, Angela Zoracki, Cecilia Siwula, Kay Hoffer, Zita Podgany and Jerry Williams Speschock.
Family and friends will be received from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. Additional viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to the time of the blessing service at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
