Dorothy Marie Langer

Dorothy Marie (Means) Langer, 90, died September 1, 2014 of natural causes. She married Lawrence A. Langer, Sr. in 1949. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a half-brother. She is survived by two sons, Larry Jr. and his wife Martha, Charles and his wife Sally, and five grandchildren: Kyrstan, Paul, Peter, Joseph, and Sarah. Dorothy was born in Oklahoma City on June 19, 1924. She graduated from Classen High School and attended William Woods College in Missouri. Dorothy was a homemaker until the children were in school, then also worked as a pre-school aid and a medical office receptionist. Dorothy was a faithful volunteer at her dear church, First Presbyterian, OKC, where she was a lifelong member, singing in the choir, helping in the music office, and playing the piano for her Sunday School Class. Whatever she was asked do to, she persevered and did it as unto the Lord. Dorothy was a woman of faith and generous with her time, talent and treasure. We give thanks to the Lord for Dorothy. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of OKC music program. Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, September 5, at Guardian West Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 6, at First Presbyterian Church, 1001 N.W. 25th, Oklahoma City. GUARDIAN WEST, 41 & N. MacArthur, 495-9292.
