Dorothy Naranjo Obituary

Dorothy Helen Wright Naranjo
In the early morning hours of July 4, 2006 Dorothy Helen Wright Naranjo, age 81 completed her stay here on earth and peacefully passed away to the next great phase of life. She was born December 19, 1924 in Salt Lake City to Ethel Lucille Robinson and Wallace William Wright.
As a young girl, Dorothy moved to Los Angeles where she went to school at John C. Fremont High School. She married Robert Grady Henry but was later divorced. She then married David Naranjo, a high school friend. They were sealed along with her son, Bob, in the Los Angeles temple. They later moved to Utah and settled in Mapleton where they built a beautiful home surrounded by a fruit orchard that she dearly loved.
Dorothy was very interested in the political process and was a staunch advocate of our country and its freedoms. She worked actively to promote freedom and encourage others to participate in the process. She also served in several callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; probably best remembered as the ward chorister and choir director, a calling she loved and served in for many years.
She loved music and dancing, and even as the years piled on a snappy tune would bring her to her feet and inspire a few happy steps. She loved and was drawn to anything of beauty.
She always wanted a dog as a little girl but was an adult before it was to be. She loved dogs and enjoyed the companionship of several over the course of her life.
She is survived by her son Robert Grady Henry III (Celinda), daughters Joyce Renee Booth (Kevin), and Carol Lucille Wille (Robert), and by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her parents, two sisters, Irene Wright Salisbury and Billie Wright Collinson, husband, and one great-grandchild preceded her in death. No doubt, David and her family were there to take her home.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mapleton White Church, 31 West Maple, Mapleton. Family and friends may call on Sunday evening, July 9, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at the Mapleton White Church, or Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City.

Dear Joyce & Kevin,

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sorry Ilost track of your family. Your Mom brought such a light to anyone she came in contact. I can still hear her contagious laugh.

I so enjoyed those days knowing her.

May God bless you and your family,

An old friend
