MCDERMOTT —Dorothy Alice "Dot" Peters, 97, of McDermott, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Dot was born December 27, 1919 in Columbus, a daughter of the late John and Bertha Edington Adkins.

She was a homemaker, a 1936 Columbus West High School graduate, and a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Portsmouth.

Dot is survived by her son, Don (Sandy) Peters of Lucasville; a stepson, Dave (Kathy) Peters of Tuscon, Arizona; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Peters, January 3, 1998; one son, Lynn E. Peters; one brother, Bob Adkins; and one sister, Louise Carpenter.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:15 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Phil Howard and Jim Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th St., Portsmouth, OH 45662.
