It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Schnitzler announce her sudden passing at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 27, 2002 following a brief illness. Born in 1913 in Berlin (Kitchener), Ontario she was the first born of Albert and Maria Tracey. In 1940 she married Louis Arthur Schnitzler and together they spent most of their lives in Waterloo working hard and raising their family of whom they were so very proud. Dorothy and Art moved to Thunder Bay in 1993 and resided at Jasper Place where a wonderful group of people helped them to live an independent life. They enjoyed immensely their annual trips each summer when they returned to the Sarnia and K-W areas to visit family and friends.Mom will be missed by her loving children, son Peter (Kathy) of Corunna, Patricia Turcotte (Richard) of Thunder Bay; grandchildren, Jennifer Turcotte, Kristopher Turcotte (fiancee Jennifer Bell) of Thunder Bay, Craig Lawrence (Wendy) of Sarnia, Kelly Conkey (Dave) of Corunna, Caralee Ridley (Adam) of Sarnia, eight great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Helen Tracey, and Jennie Tracey. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Louis in 1997, her sisters: Louise Schaefer, Violet Nolan, and twin brothers Kenneth and Albert Jr. Dorothy's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Wednesday, July 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, July 4th at St. Michael's RC Church in Waterloo at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Voisin CR officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener. If friends so desire, memorials may be made to the Jasper Support Services Program, 1200 Jasper Drive, Thunder Bay ON, P7B 6N7 and may be arranged through the funeral home at (519) 745-8445 or www.edwardrgood.com. A service of remembrance will also be held at Jasper Place later in July. The family of the late Dorothy Schnitzler wish to express their gratitudeand sincere thanks for the years of supportive and loving care provided by Dr. Don Leishman (Thunder Bay), Dr. B.J.
