Mrs. Dorothy Malachowski Skobel, 91, of Buffalo, N.Y., passed away Aug. 10, 2016, at Autumn Care of Salisbury. Born Dec. 26, 1924, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Pearl Skalski and John Malachowski. Mrs. Skobel attended Buffalo school system. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. Casimir in Buffalo, N.Y. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Skobel; along with a number of sisters and a brother. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jimmy Skobel (Lottie) of Houston, Tex.; daughters, Roseanne Zimmerman of Lakeview, N.Y. and Suzie Dinse of Salisbury; grandchildren, Shawn Skobel (Jennifer), Eric Zimmerman (Rachel), Sarah O'Connor (Sean), Jeffrey Zimmerman (Kara), Erin Brinkley (Damon), Valerie Hawthorn (Eric Wagner), Andy Dinse (Kristin); great-grandchildren, Mayla, Ethan, Bennett, Olivia, Evan, Nolan, Finley, Jack, Emersyn. Visitation and Service: Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salisbury, NC. The family will speak to friends following the church service. Burial will take place at St. Matthews Cemetery in Buffalo, NY. The family would like to give a special thanks to Cynthia and all of the Autumn Care staff for the loving care provided to Dorothy. Thank you for treating her like family, you truly have been a blessing to us. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 375 Lumen Christi Lane, Salisbury, NC 28144.
