I knew Dottie at Mount Holyoke. We shared airplane rides from Texas after my family moved to Austin.
I am sorry you have lost her at such an early age. She was lovely.

Jodie, Dottie Jr, Jodie Jr and Shannon,
I just tonight learned of your loss. It makes me so very sad that I didn't even know Dottie was ill -- I would have so loved to pray with her, bring meals and do anything I could have done to help. All our family loved her so very much. We were witnesses of her love and devotion for her family, her loving kindness, generosity and humility. She was so beautiful, elegant and poised and she exuded class, yet she made EVERYONE feel they were so welcome in her home and that they were special. I know personally many people she blessed anonomously, both emotionally and financially.
Her life and faith was such an inspiration and testimony of her strong spiritual convictions and I'm not at all surprised that she was demonstrating trust and faith till she met her Maker. She taught us how to live AND she taught us how to die with confidence.
She is well now; in fact, she's never been better - she has received ultimate healing. She's safe in the arms of Jesus and angels are rejoicing.
St. Paul posed the question, "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"
The sting occurs when loved ones are separated in this life. The victory is the entrance into life with our Triune God, as promised by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
"Precious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His godly ones" Psalm 116:15
How wonderful to know how much He treasures her homecoming!
Dear Lord, thank for exhibiting God's goodness to your faithful servant, Dottie. We praise you for every life that she touched. We pray for peace for each member of this precious loving family. In Jesus name, AMEN!
THE MARKS LEFT ON ANOTHER ARE INDELIBLE!
She will always have a very special place in my heart -- I loved her so much!
"If our eyes had no tears
Our soul would have no rainbow."
My eyes have LOTS of tears but I'm so happy Dottie is home. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
Love

Dear Thompson Family,
You are in our thoughts and in our prayers. Dottie was a beautiful woman. Any room she entered became a little brighter. Her kindness was equal to her beauty. She will be missed by all who knew her. With love, Robert and Patti Ransone
