Dorothy Waddell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 22, 2017.
Dorothy Wells Waddell, most loved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Mimi, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, July 21, 2017 to be with her Lord and Savior and her beloved Johnny. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, John E. Waddell; her daughter, Terry Williams; her parents, Gertrude and Paul Wells; and her brothers, Billy Wells and Jack "Buddy" Wells; as well as an infant sister. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Forest Orr and her son, Doug Waddell. She is also survived by her do-no-wrong grandchildren, Paula (Leonard) Bradford, Pam (Joey) Bailey, Melissa Orr, Nick (Susan) Orr, and Kimberly Waddell; great-grandchildren, Diane (William) Crawford, Kelly Shaffer, Scott Bailey, Tyler (Jerica) Bailey, John Patrick, Peyton, and Kinsey Moore, Elizabeth and Nicholas Orr, Amelia Shaffer and soon to be Baby Crawford; sister-in-law, Mary Wells and many loved Wells nieces and nephews. Dot (Dottie to her beloved Johnny) was a long time member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church where she was active in leadership roles in too many to count church activities. She loved her family and was little but mighty. The Waddell, Davis, and Gilbert families spent many hours and days in family and friend time. Thank God for good friends. The family will receive friends Monday, July 24, 2017 from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm at Sevier Heights Baptist Church North Campus, 2939 Alcoa Highway, with a 7:30 pm funeral service. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 10:00 am for a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made in memory of Dot Waddell to the Pat Summitt Foundation for Alzheimer's Research, 520 W. Summit Hill Drive, Suite 101, Knoxville, TN 37902. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.
