Dorothy Waltz Obituary
Born on December 19, 1929, in Trappe, PA to the late Harry Z. and Esther M. (Miller) Hoyer. Beloved mother to 4 children: Raymond D., husband of Patricia (Graff) Waltz, Limerick; Patricia, wife of William Devlin, Key West FL; Priscilla, wife of Michael Anderson, La Mesa, CA; and Pamela Norcia, Spring City. She was adored by her 7 grandchildren: Raymond G. Waltz, Vanessa Waltz, Kate, wife of Terry Lillicrapp, Maura, wife of Trey Ciammetti, Chelsea Anderson, Joshua, husband of Laree (Moritz) Fulmer, and James Norcia. She was affectionately known as "G. G." by her 7 great-grandchildren, Maverick, Jackson, Colin, Sean, Tripp, Jude, and Molly, who will miss her dearly along with her much loved sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a life long member of Augustus Lutheran Church, and served with the Women Of The Evangelical Lutheran Church Of America. She attended California State College (PA) and Penn State University, where she majored in Home Economics and earned her Mrs. degree. Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked for the Spring City Knitting Co. for over twelve years, managing executive hospitality and later as an administrative assistant.
She dedicated her life to her family, volunteered to help others in need, and showed kindness to all. Dorothy was a loyal friend and brightened the day of others. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling, the beach, playing bridge and mah-jong, theater, orchestra, and opera.
Dorothy's funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 2nd, at Augustus Lutheran Church, 717 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426, with the Rev. G. Warren Weleck, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Friday, at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Augustus Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe, PA.
