Dorothy Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 22, 2024.
Dorothy Sue Williams (Hayes) passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 83 in Houston, Texas, where she was also born on September 23, 1941.

Dorothy is survived by her loving family, including her son Carlos Williams, daughter Charla Williams, and grandson Alan Houlder. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Genevieve Hayes and brother, James Hayes.

Dorothy, a lifelong educator, dedicated her career to teaching in New Waverly, Conroe, and Houston within Aldine ISD. She was a proud alumna of Phyllis Wheatley High School and equally proud alumna of Prairie View A &M University where she received her Bachelor's. She earned her Master's degree from Lamar University.

Known for her quiet demeanor that blossomed into warmth and kindness once familiar, Dorothy was deeply involved in her community and Brookhollow Baptist Church - The Church Without Walls. Her passions included shopping, celebrating holidays, and attending family events, always bringing joy to those around her.

The family has entrusted Pruitt's In The Heights in Houston, Texas, with the funeral arrangements. Dorothy's presence will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
