It was the grin. That grin and that look that said, "watch this"! When Doug did that, I always knew something super funny was going to happen. And, if we got really lucky, we would be able to pull off whatever stunt Doug had in mind without grandma or grandpa catching us! That's what I'm thinking about today.
My heart aches that I can't be there to share in everyone's grief. I hope this note and memory helps.
Isiah 41:10 says, "fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Love all of you guys. And, I'll miss ya Doug. Save me a place in line in Heaven!

Dear Doug: Thank you for the memories. We can still hear your voice and your accent from when we all played and romped at May's farm. Swimming, fishing, and hunting were our favorite things to do at the pond. Scary stories and camp fires seemed to always be much more exciting when you were around.
Your unique flare for being awnry is what made you special. You were one of a kind, and we will miss your charm and laughter. Be at peace dear cousin and know you were very much loved and will be very much missed! Amanda Barrett and Alan Clepper (Enid, OK)
