Dear Gloria,Dennis,Betty,Janice and your entire families,I was absolutely stunned when "Killer" Keith Bolster called me wednesday night and told me Doug had died.It was only a short time ago,at the "fifty year class reunion",that I got to spend some time with Doug. I grew up next door to Doug and his family and we shared school from the first grade at the "Little School,on to high school. I still have pictures of Doug,Dennis and several other neighborhood kids at a couple of my birthday parties. I have dozens of memories of our times together especially playing basketball. I will miss Doug and his easy smile and funny stories. Jim Cleaves-South Meriden,Connecticut

Gloria: I am so sorry for your loss. The last time I saw Doug was at the 2005 reunion and we both talked about retiring--I was an adjuster for 12 years and and agent for 27 years.and we were both tired of the insurance business. I hope he had some time for retirement. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

When I was 12 years old I recieved a birthday present from my uncle.. it was a used baseball that he had recieved after one of the many high school baseball games he had been involved in winning. For him it was all he had, for me it was the best gift I could imagine, from one of my high school heros. I remember (like yesterday)laying on the living room floor and listening to Dewey Dewitt.. a Bridgewater/ Easton basketball game.."Doug Dodge steals the ball again and scores a bunny"
One cold night in Old Town,Doug and I were part of the Wadleigh Warriors We were the only two left on the court facing 5 Indians..He looked at me and said."we are going to win this game" And we did!
My hero, my uncle.
His quick wit, willingness to pitch in, and a pretty good table hockey player.. A great guy.. my uncle..Doug.
He will be missed by those that knew and loved him.

Doug was a very good athlete and a great guy! I played baseball against him in high school and played baseball with him at Husson College and have a few interesting stories about him. This is a sad day....
