To the McClurg family:

My deepest condolences to all of you. My prayers are especially with Kelly, for whom I have always felt a special fondness. When we were praticing in Jacksonville, Doug asked me what he should name his baby if it was a girl. I told him he should name his daughter Kelly McClurg because it was a beautiful name.

Doug was a wonderful person of high personal intergrity. He was a close friend in law school and someone who had the ability to make you feel like you were still good friends even though you had not seen each other in years. You all are in my thoughs and prayers. May the Lord comfort you and hold you close.

Leaders and great people leave two things when they depart: a great sense of loss in those who cared for them and a long legacy of fine and fond memories that help to deal with it. Doug was the kind of husband, father, soldier, friend, attorney and man whose legacy will long survive. God bless him and his family.

To the Family of Douglas P. McClurg:

I am so sorry to hear about your deep loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this tragic time. May God wrap his arms around you and keep you close. As a former employee with Hill, Ward & Henderson, P.A. (Doug was a well respected attorney and everyone liked him immensely). He will definately be missed. I will miss running into him in the building and getting an update on the latest concert that he has seen. Renee Hill and I sat next to him a couple of years ago at a concert with his fiance (now wife) and we were sworn to secrecy not to let anyone know about him being at this particular concert. (Erika should know which one) :)

Take care and may God be with you all.
