I remember Doug vey well and fondly from the days when I was privileged to share the stage with him and his group, The Faculty, at he Harp and Bard. They were supremely talented and highly entertaining ...as well as and not incidentally, warm and welcoming to audiences and performers, alike. In sort, they were a complete joy

The comments we're getting from former students and music associates - my brother Seth and I (Ian) appreciate it so much. We were very lucky to have two musicians as parents and delight in hearing from people who were students of his. We were young, young kids listening to Bootsy Collins, Charlie Parker, Bach and Van Morrison.

Mr McIntosh was my Middle School music teacher and was very influential to me. Instilling a dedicated, diligent work ethic which I rely on today. I remember him fondly. My heart felt condolences to the family for a great man and teacher.

My brother, Doug, was everything to me...inspiring, wise, a trusted confidante, and the best big brother anyone could have. His musical talent was enormous, and he contributed so much to his students, school, family, musical colleagues, and the community at large. He died so suddenly. I will miss him always.

Mr McIntosh was my middle school band teacher. He taught me how to play the clarinet in 7th grade when I moved to Burlington. I am now a band director and still playing the clarinet. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

I played with Doug's cellar band called Pieces of Eight. He wrote most of the charts. We once played on channel 5's Sunday Morning program. We recorded a few things that still sound really good today. I helped him build a hexagon window for either his home or barn. We had a good time together doing that Doug will be missed. RTP my friend.

In all those years driving to gigs, hauling our gear and setting up, we still always enjoyed our friendships and we made some great music together.
