DOUGLAS METCALFE Obituary
DOUGLAS R.
Douglas, age 70, of Imperial, North Fayette Twp., died Thursday, October 19, 2017, in St. Clair Hospital. He was born June 14, 1947, in Chardon, Ohio, a son of the late Douglas and Laura Henn Metcalfe. Mr. Metcalfe was the owner of Arial Arborist where he was a tree climber and was a US Marine veteran. He enjoyed sky diving. He did 240 parachute jumps and won the national sky diving championship in 1969, 1970 and 1971. He was an experienced pilot and also enjoyed hunting, kayaking with the family, photography and computer science. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Debra Brady Metcalfe; his daughter, Lara (Lance) Trudell of St. Charles, MO; his sister, Sharron (Wick) Hummel of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 6-8:30 p.m. in the THOMAS - LITTLE FUNERAL SERVICE, INC., 305 Main St., Imperial, (724-695-2800) where funeral service will be held Monday at 8:30 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Doug was my roommate sophomore year at Kent State, and got me into skydiving. We were young, rode motorcycles, and spent most of our free time at the Cleveland Parachute Club. Somehow he popped into my mind tonight and I searched for him on-line. I was saddened to hear that he had passed. My deepest sympathies to his wife and family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Doug trimmed our trees, and not only did a great job, and was reliable, he made the experience a real pleasure. A big and great personality. Our condolences to your family...
