STEVENSON Douglas Johnstone. Doug passed away suddenly on March 22, 2003. Born on September 20, 1929, in rural, Saskatchewan near the Township of Tilney to the delight of his Mom, Fanny (nee Etherington) originally from England, and Father George (from Scotland) and sister Jeannette, later joined by his brother George and sister Grace. Raised and educated in Moose Jaw, Sask. Doug worked as a sheet metal worker, auto and furnace mechanic while there. When he met his wife to be, on a blind date in 1952, Wilma and Doug were wed shortly after on February 14, 1953. God blessed them with two children, Robert Douglas and Beverley Ann. Feeling the call of the west, and the chill of the east, they packed up the family and moved to Victoria, BC in 1959. Heard saying as he left, "At least if I'm gonna starve, I'm gonna be warm!". Predeceased by his 16 year old son in a tragic automotive accident in Victoria in 1970 and much later by his loving wife Wilma to cancer, just 8 short months ago in 2002.
