VANDALE, Douglas
Douglas Vandale was born December 3, 1936 at Saskatoon, SK and passed away October 3, 2017 at Prince Albert, SK. He was 80 years of age. Doug was born in Saskatoon in 1936 and moved to Chitek Lake at a young age; he never left Chitek Lake except for work. He married Adell Henrietta Chartier in 1957. Doug did many things including logging, commercial fishing, working for the D.N.R and he also spent many years working for the pipeline. He loved the work but hated being away from his family. Doug spent his winters taking care of the skating rink and after retirement he loved to ride his Mule ATV, pick berries, ran his dogs and watched lots of sports especially the Blue Jays and NHL hockey. Douglas is lovingly remembered by: his wife of 60 years, Adell and their family: Willyann (William) Beeds, Albert Chartier, Chester (Carla Schroeder), Daniel (Hollie), John, Patty Kirchner (Cliff Christopherson), Woody (Terry), Scott (Shannon Jack), Billy (Celine); 23 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; his sisters: Marion, Patsy, Shirley; siblings-in-law: Bob Weal, Jack Morin, Margaret Vandale; extended family: Sheri, Clem, Vince and Kylie; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by: parents, Albert and Amy Vandale; siblings, William, Joseph, Larry, Irene, Doris and Frances; siblings-in- law, Leonard, Paul, Buck, Frances and Fern. Funeral Services were held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chitek Lake Community Hall, Chitek Lake, SK with Delores Beaulac officiating. A Eulogy was given by grandson Dustin Vandale. The Honorary Pallbearers were considered "all those who knew and loved Douglas." Active Pallbearers were his grandsons: Curtis Chartier, Beau Vandale, Adam Kirchner, Chase Vandale, Colton Vandale, Ty Vandale, Riley Vandale and Duke Kirchner. Following a private family interment at the Peaceful Pines Cemetery, the family invited all those in attendance for lunch and fellowship in the Chitek Lake Community Hall. Memorial Donations may be made to the Sunshine Seniors Group, Chitek Lake, SK in memory of Douglas Vandale as tokens of remembrance.
