Dr. Andrew Tynon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 6 to Mar. 7, 2023.
Dr. Andrew William Tynon, 29, of Rochester, NY, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2023. He was predeceased by his Grandma Toni and Grandma Barlow. Andrew is survived by his daughters Rosalind and Eleanor, wife Barbara, mother and father, Marie and Dave, brothers Justin and Adrian, sister Clare, grandfather Bill (Bonnie), uncles Paul (Rachel) and Jim, his parents-in-laws Andy and Julie, sister-in law Sarah (Mike), brother-in-law David (Kayla), and his beloved cousins and nephews.

Andrew earned his bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry at LeMoyne College, where, in addition to distinguishing himself in his studies, he ran and grew the Health Professions Club. He also met and fell in love with Barbara at LeMoyne; they married in 2017 at Kring Point, NY.

After his undergraduate, Andrew attended SUNY Stonybrook Medical School and earned his M.D. There, he was a proud member of the CMDA (Christian Medical Doctors' Association), where he ran Bible studies with fellow medical students. He was also chair of the SB Home clinic, a charitable organization where doctors in training donated their time to area residents with no other access to healthcare services. At Stonybrook, he was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

This year, he was awarded the Perseverance Award "for facing and overcoming immeasurable odds, for being an inspiration and exemplary role model of strength, character, and perseverance" by the faculty and residents of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Resident Program at University of Rochester, where Andrew was a resident.

Andrew loved hiking and spending time in nature with family, building Legos with his girls, and enjoying cuisine and coffee with his wife. Andrew excelled at everything he did. There are people in this world that touch lives: that was Andrew. Every single person he came into contact with, he changed for the better. It was a privilege to know and love him.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Lakefront Lodge in Webster Park on Saturday, March 11th from 1-4 p.m.

Marie, Barbara and family. Words can´t possibly express my sincere and deep sadness I´m feeling for your profound loss. Andrew was so remarkable in so many ways and so strong to the end. What I will remember most of Andrew was his incredibly human way in how he dealt with his condition. Strength and honesty are his hallmarks. In such a short time the world shared your son husband and brother he accomplished what few could do in a longer lifetime. I´m honored to have been a witness to his amazing life. My thoughts and prayers continue for all of you. The world is a sadder place without your beautiful Andrew. RIP Doctor

Marie, I'm heartbroken over the loss of your son Andrew. So polite, so smart, with his whole life ahead of him. I had no idea he went into medicine. What a great accomplishment. Your sons were terrific, and you are a great mother. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. Another tragedy I cannot make sense of. Thinking of you.
