Duane did indeed have a heart of gold. If he liked you, he would do anything he could for you. He may have chosen the wrong profession to be in. I always thought he should have been a detective. He loved to solve mysteries, and he picked one of the greatest to try to solve. He could unravel clues that no one else would see or find. I observed him over almost 55 years, and there was no one who came closer than he to solving the puzzle. Fortunately we returned to the field many times over his last year, and early in the new year, we got to dig where no one had dug before. The clue was gone, but at least we discovered that fact together. May he rest in peace. Steve Wison

All i can say was Duane was a roll model human being. I've witnessed a lot of kind, caring actions and things he did for others. Heaven gained a good man. It won't be the same in this town not seeing you rolling around town in that PT Cruiser. Or all the places such as Dairy Queen etc. You were great support for my wife Sharon when she needed it. She loved you dearly. We will miss you. Until we meet again. And I will always remember that the contributions in the Higginbotham's bucket at church doesn't go to Higginbotham's.

It would take all day to retell all of the stories our family shares with Duane, but I will never forget the laughter and adventure and how he was such a good, genuine friend to my dad. That whimsical laugh that he would get when he was tickled about a story he was telling is something that I will remember forever. We will miss him so much, but know that he is at peace with his Heavenly Father and has now found the greatest treasure of all.

Duane will be missed by us. He told so many funny stories and had a life full of adventure. We will never forget him trying to get a horse to come home by bribing him with a piece of chocolate cake. He had marvelous faithful and . He could entertain 50 kids at church by drawing clever illustrations on the whiteboard of entire Bible stories. He was brilliant and a good friend to many many people. With love to Bracken and the family, Joe and Denecia Hubbard
