Dr Matin was my Dr for over 20 years starting when we were both much younger and every couple of years or so as i was playing soccer she would help me back into the game . she always knew what have i done to myself and would fix it sometimes with a shot without dragging the visits putting me back to work for which i would be always grateful to her . Rest in peace my good Dr . You have done your share of helping people alright

Im trying to figure out what I wanna say about Dr Maitin. I received this new recently. My daughter works in the medical field and she just passed me this information per her coworkers. Dr. Maitin was my Otho dr for about 10 years and she was ... no word. WONDERFUL CARING and the best Otho doctor I ever had. I was so upset in January when I was told Geanes cancelled my insurance. To her husband children and family, please know that my prayers are with yall and I am better with my limitations because of her care and I will never forget how she always cared for me as my doctor.

I am sorry to about Dr Maitins passing, which I just learned today at OSRA, when I arrived for my appointment that should have been with her. I had no idea that she had kidney or pancreatic cancer.
Dr. Maitin was an excellent orthopedist and a wonderful person. She had been my doctor since 2000. She diagnosed my arthritis and tendinitis and recommended the best care. She found the correct medication for me. I always enjoyed my visits with her. She was always prompt, yet had the time to give us the appropriate care and attention. She called to follow up.
While I am sitting in the waiting room, everyone was echoing how great she was. We are in tears.

I really miss her, and am so sorry that I could not say goodbye. I remember also her beautiful hair.

Please express my sympathy to her family. I miss my doctor, but you no longer have your wife, Mother, sister, etc. I cannot fathom your loss. I am so sorry.

Just an amazing woman, Most people/ patients did not even know she was sick, or not feeling well Because they were the patient. She got right to the problem, and if a follow up appointment wasn't necessary would ask just give me a call and let me know how you're doing. She was direct but always kind And sometimes Would ask me to give the readers digest version.... The important details She would make me laugh. And after the office visit would ask how the kids were doing She will be missed terribly

I am saddened and shocked by Dr. Maitin's passing. She has been part of my family since my daughter started playing sports and was there for every, single injury with care and guidance for recovery. She was truly the only person who I trusted with her care. Every visit was personal and informational. She always had time for questions and actually listened to my daughter. I will truly miss her so much! My condolences to the family for losing such a wonderful, caring woman who I was honored to have care for my daughter.

I have been an RN for more than 25 years. Dr Maitin was the most extraordinary, compassionate, competent Dr, I have ever known. I was devasted to learn of her passing. I joked often that I was her personal human dart board. She had an intuitative ability and an almost erie way to just know the root of my many pains. She was my doctor for 20+ years and I refered her to many people, all of whom loved her. My heart breaks for the loss of an exceptioally, extraordinary woman, and i hurt for her family. It was an honor to be her patient, and i can not begin to imagine the hole left in their lives. She was the epitome of kindness and caring. She will never be forgotten. Forever loved. I am so sorry about my dear friend Dr Maitin. Inever knew she passed. I was her patient for many years and she was always so kind and concerned about all my issues with my health. But it was more than that...inm 2009 I got a litlle Cavalier King Charles puppy and when I showed her Duchess' picture she fell in love with her and asked me to bring her to the office! So for 9 years, off and on, Duchess would come prancing into her office and enjoy all her attention. After Duchess died, she comforted me like she knew whay I was going through. I am sad beyond words to hear of Ellen Maitin's passing. Dr. Maitin treated both of my sons, one many times as he was prone to fractures. He had just come out of a brace for a broken wrist only a few months ago. One of the many things that made Dr. Maitin so special was that she explained the injury and the healing process to my children in ways they could understand when they were young and in more grown up ways when they got older. If you want to know the power this woman had on me as a parent I only need to tell you one story. My one son fell in gym class and the school nurse was suspicious that he might have broken his arm near his shoulder. I told her I'd be right over and when I picked him up the nurse remarked how calm I was as I put him into the car. The reason I was so calm was that I had called and gotten him an appointment with Dr. Maitin before I went to pick him up. In her hands I knew he would be well cared for and I had nothing to fear. Our family was blessed to have the care of Dr. Maitin and I hope all of her family and friends read this and to know how much their loved one meant to me and my family. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

I am truly saddened to learn of Ellen's passing. She was a childhood friend. I lived within walking distance of her home in Meadowbrook and often spent time there. I would think of her every year on my birthday, as her's was the day before. We lost touch when I moved away in 9th grade. She was a special person then, who obviously continued to be very special and successful.

Dr Ellen Maitin, of blessed memory, was a wonderful woman! She was my doctor and my friend. I loved her positive energy, stunning intellect and strength beyond measure. Ellen was real and honest. Plain talk from a
gifted physician and lovely woman.

Ellen found a way to comfort and support me. It is hard to comprehend that she is gone: always a heartbeat away
from using real language and genuine emotion to discuss a core truth of any medical or personal situation. How vivid is memory. Dearest Ellen, I hope you knew that your encouragement and quick wit saved the day for me.
I shall never forget your example of a life lived with purpose and honor. ............Judy Shuster

I went to high school with Ellen, and we were in almost all the same classes. I revered her as being smart, pretty, and accomplished - to the point that I thought she was above the usual teen-age angst. One day after our Humanities class with Dr. Glatthorn, we ended up having a very personal conversation, and she gave me her journal to read. I learned that she was human and vulnerable (as, of course, we all are.) I felt like we shared a special bond after that. I am happy she accomplished so much and had such a full life. Godspeed, Ellen.

John 14:1-2 (NIV) states, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?" God could not have sent a more compassionate, kind, and wonderful person as Dr. Ellen Maitin. I believe in my heart there is a room in God's house for her. She loved her patients, and I truly loved the way she treated me as a patient. I will miss her; she's now in God's hands. To the family - my deepest sympathy.

Ellen was my cousin who was held up in my family as a paragon of how one should excel. She was a brilliant, strong and humble woman who prioritized doing great work over getting accolades and attention. She and my Dad had a special connection, as I think they were wired similarly and really got each other.

Ellen was thoughtful and generous. When I moved into my own apartment for the first time in my twenties, out of nowhere she bought me a toaster oven, sharing with me memories of having her own apartment and how essential her toaster oven was to her. I used that thing almost daily for at least fifteen years! Our toaster oven is still the most utilized thing in our kitchen.

Ellen was a quiet powerhouse and a true leader, going into a very male-dominated field and paving the way for other women. She was also generous in giving orthopedic advice to the whole family.

I will miss Ellen deeply. She was truly one of a kind. Theres a big hole now in our family fabric that cant be repaired.

When I first got to know Ellen I always referred to her as Dr. Maitin. This was easy as I had such a respect for her authority and opinion. After a while she asked me to please call her Ellen as we worked closely together. Well, my habit of calling her Dr. was difficult to break and wed often laugh over how Id get tongue-tied while trying to address her. It was a pleasure to work along side of her and laugh as we navigated our way through the work day. She was a special person who was generous in her compliments and her thoughtfulness. My heart goes out to her entire family.

I am truly sorry for your loss, our loss! Dr. Maitin was a special kind of person/doctor! I had the pleasure of working with her for the past 15 years and grew very close to her the last few years! She was the nicest, kindest, most generous person! Monday mornings she would ask how busy my weekend was and if I got a chance to relax, I really should have been asking her: Did you relax? But anyone who knew Dr. Maitin knew, she was the energizer bunny! No matter how hard she fought this illness, you would have never of known she was sick. I will miss her so much as our entire OSRA family will.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

As her patients over the last 24 years, my wife and I learned how to deal with the aches and pains brought on by accident and simply growing older.

I chose the relationship of student because patient wasnt in the list and other somehow seemed too cold. Ellen always surprised with her knowledge of mechanics and mathematics and the way my body was responding to my own treatment.

And she always gave me a chance to see that the images, like CT-SCANs and MRIs and X-RAYS would show nothing where the pain seemed to be, and something in the neck or the back, where a cortisone shot would magically make the pain disappear in just a few days or weeks. Or strength return to a floppy foot.

She was a master magician! And I salute her and all those live to carry on her work and life.

Thanks be to God for Ellen.

Ever grateful for her. We joked my kids should have bronze name plates on at least one exam room or X-ray machine. She was one of the best of us. My deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers for the family, practice partners and friends in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Dr. Maitin was the kindest, most professional people I ever worked with. As her patient for many years we became friends and always talked of how proud she was of her girls. I will remember her with great fondness. My prayers for her family.

I am saddened to hear of Dr Maitins passing. She was a thoughtful and caring doctor to me from the moment I met her and became one of her patients. She always took her time with me and listened to my concerns so that she could provide me with the best care. I grew to love her and my office visits with her. At one of my appointments, I had given her a sample of pound cake that my daughter Tiffany had baked and as a result she began ordering cakes from her each year for Thanksgiving, and continued to order them even after Tiffany relocated from Philadelphia to North Carolina. Sadly my daughter died suddenly 6 months ago from surgery that was supposed to be non-complicated. My heart is broken again but I find peace in knowing that my friend, my caring and loving physician is smiling with the heavenly angels and maybe discussing lemon pound cake with Tiff. I pray God grants the blessings of strength and peace beyond understanding to all of Dr Maitins family and friends. She was an awesome little lady with a beautiful spirit and soul. What a privilege to have known her
Blessings and Peace,

I am so truly sorry for your tremendous loss. Dr. Ellen Maitin was a wonderful person to work with in and out of the office. I was blessed to be able to spend time with her away from the office and get to know her on a personal level. She always treated my girls with pure kindness and generosity. She was loved as a member of our own family. Our hearts will be heavy as we mourn her loss. We will keep you all in our thoughts, prayers and hearts.

Dr. Maitin was my doctor and my family's doctor for many years. She was a wonderful and caring doctor especially to my mother. I enjoyed our talks in the office and always brought her a coffee on my Saturday appointments. She loved her sweets, so I made sure I brought her cake or cookies for the holidays. She was a special doctor and person. Sending thoughts and prayers out to her family. Ellen will truly be missed.

I had such great respect for her as a doctor. She treated me so well with my many arthritic, hand issues. But most of all I actually enjoyed my appointment time spent with Ellen, as she always reminded me to address her, because we always enjoyed non-medical related conversation even during painful injections. What a beautiful lady, inside and out. RIP

To the family of Dr Maitin, please accept my deepest sympathies upon the loss of your dear mother/wife. I knew Dr Maitin from when I worked at Jeanes Hospital and she took such excellent care of my Mom, and of my dear friend, such kindness, and compassion is rarely seen anymore. She had such a comforting presence I can only hope she is at peace now and knows what an impact she's made on so many lives. And I'm sure the ones closest to her will feel her loss the most. Know she's always there with you. God Bless you Dr Maitin.
