UNFORTUNATELY I just read your book on Prodigious Enzyme . I had a colonoscopy and found I had colon cancer. I am 82 years old feeling well, have not had chemotherapy and will follow some of your advice which can be practiced eventhough I had an operation. GOD BLESS YOU for your generous life and so many light in this field. You have saved so many lives. I am Mexican and feel very proud of such a human being as you. Thank you.

Present for the 20th anniversary of flexible endoscopy, first performed at Beth Israel Hospital, Dr. Shinya presented a home movie of the first procedure performed in the basement of the hospital. To live in an era where medical history was made, how grateful we all are because of Drs. Shinya and Wolff. As a GI nurse, I remember a patient who had a large, cancerous polyp successfully removed, with the edges clear of disease. When calling the patient with the results of the biopsies, I was told to "tell the patient to follow up in one year with another colonoscopy for screening purposes." I restrained myself from saying "you are one lucky person to have cancer detected and successfully removed without further treatment needed." On the next visit, the doctor told her so. THANK YOU Dr. Shinya for your talent and personality. To his co-workers, colleagues and patients out there, we are all grateful Dr. Shinya came into our lives. Condolences and hugs to his family and friends.

My wife and I were greatly saddened to have belatedly learned of Dr. Shinya's passing. We were both his patients from 1997 until his retirement to Japan, and his skill and expertise were instrumental in the diagnosis of my wife's colon cancer and her effective treatment. His and Dr. Wolff's contributions to the development of the colonoscopy and Dr. Shinya's invention of the polypectomy snare, have revolutionized this field. It isn't an exaggeration to say that there are hundreds of thousands of people around the globe, who are alive today because of Dr. Shinya's dedication. Our sincerest condolences, and may his memory be for a blessing.

Erica, my deepest sympathies. Such an incredible person. Just think of all the tens of thousands of lives that he has touched, and all the many, many thousands of people that he has helped with their health issues.

Legend also to me, a Kangen water evangelist since I bought a SD 501 in 2009. I read The Enzyme Factor, and The Microbe Factor, and The Rejuvenation Enzyme.

Even though I was never able to meet him, his books gave me a lot of insight into his brain, and into his heart. Memory eternal.

He is a legend for me, and for thousands and upon thousands of people who have read his books and/or drink Kangen Water.

I was so gutted when I found out about his passing, I so proudly spoke of him every time I spoke about Kangen Water in people's home and on Zoom calls.

In fact, even some senior leaders in our Enagic community didn't know about his passing and all of them were as gutted and shocked as I was, because we all cherish him and his work so fondly.

Added a photo of myself next to an image of my Guru. May it support him in his onward journey, whichever form it takes.

I just read selections of Dr. Shinya´s book "The Microbe Factor" then looked online to view any current updates. Very sad and sorry to learn of his recent passing. He was so brilliant, innovative, gentle and kind. Absolute dedication to educating patients, colleagues for better health As a Beth Israel nursing student 1964-67,we knew and admired your dad. Years later I became his patient until he relocated to Japan. I will treasure our conversations, his skill and compassion.
Much comfort and blessings to you and your family.

Dear Erica,
Your father's book 'The Enzyme Factor' helped guide my direction with my Rheumatoid Arthritis. His suggestions of buckwheat/quinoa/amaranth for meals became the foundational foods for my RA recommendations which have now been followed by thousands. Many of which, in turn, have seen improvements to their symptoms.
I often quote sections from his books, and I am dearly grateful for the work he shared. What a wonderful man.
