Dr. Jeffrey Waitzman Obituary
Beloved husband of the late Diana J. Waitzman nee Bergman. Loving father of Philip (Heather) Waitzman, Melissa Waitzman (Ronnie Holloway) and Adam (Jodie) Waitzman. Proud papa of Miri, Chloe, Benjamin, Evan, Lilly, Bari, Allie, Taylor and Jordan. Dear brother of Gary (Katie) Waitzman, Marty (Lisa) Waitzman and the late Beverly Tovrog.
Dr. Jeffrey S. Waitzman, a devoted obstetrician-gynecologist, passed away leaving a legacy defined by compassion, integrity, and unwavering commitment. Over the course of more than 30 years in medicine, he delivered over 10,000 newborn babies-an extraordinary testament to his skill, dedication, and enduring presence in the lives of countless families. In a profoundly moving full-circle moment, Dr. Waitzman eventually delivered babies born to women he had once delivered himself. A passionate advocate for both medical and Jewish education, he mentored countless future physicians and actively supported institutions that fostered Jewish learning and values. He was the devoted husband of 49 years to his beloved "Annie," Diana-a partnership rooted in love, mutual respect, and shared purpose. Above all, his greatest joy was time spent with his nine grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with warmth, wisdom, and laughter. And not to be forgotten was his fond affection for his six devoted grand-puppies, who brought him daily delight. At the heart of his life were the principles he embodied daily: the importance of family, the strength of faith, the dignity of hard work, and the power of always showing up and giving your best effort. He led by quiet example, modeling dedication, presence, and purpose in every role he held. Dr. Waitzman's impact on the lives he touched is immeasurable, and his legacy lives on in the generations of families, students, and colleagues he inspired.
Graveside service Sunday 9AM at Shalom Memorial Park, (Section X) 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Dear Phillip, Melissa, Adam and your families... Ben and were saddened to read in the JUF news about your father's passing. We fondly remember his warm and kind smile; especially when we walked our Bichon Frises together! We remember the courage and determination he showed in the later years of his life. As we were out of town, we sadly only learned recently of your dad´s passing. He was a true mensch! As neighbors, we always saw him trying so hard to make his walks successful with his aides. We were impressed with his fortitude though in retrospect it must have been sad being without your mom. May they both rest in peace!! Strength to all of you!

We just heard of his passing and wanted to make known our gratitude for him. 30 years ago our son was born a full 3 months premature. Not only did Dr. Waitzman save our sons life, he saved him from a life of disability with his surgical skill at birth. Our son is now living a full life because of him.
