To my Beloved Husband,
Thank you for the love you gave me so unselfishly for over fifty years. You, my loving husband taught me the true meaning of love. It seems that I have loved you and you loved me from the time we first existed. You waited on and for me so many years. I thought you would be a part of my earthly life forever. I never envisioned life without you. I grieve for the early morning risings and the sunrise settings that we will never share. I pray daily that God gives me strength to accept the fact that you now lay peacefully in His loving arms free of pain. My only joy is that now you are at rest and pain free. However, my world, without you by my side seems strange, cold, and so empty, but please wait for me one more time.
With all my love. I will see you later.

Known as John Henry, the pastor's son in our community. Rev. Rowe was the pastor that baptized this soul while in service at New Providence Baptist Church in Norphlet, Arkansas. A very quiet man that had the demeanor of his mother. But even with that humble demeanor, he became very successful in his life journey both spiritually and intellectually. From time to time he would return to our communities of El Dorado and Norphlet Arkansas with his gentleness of spirit. Perfect example of how to be successful without being boastful. A true Christian warrior. John Henry has quietly gone from this life but he will show up quietly beside us one day.

Dr. John Henry Rowe was the epitome of a Jesus follower in every way from the time I knew him way back years ago. His whole family, Rev. J. H. Rowe, Sis. Ruthie Rowe, Patsy, and John Henry, were some of the nicest people I have ever known. Rev. J.H. Rowe was our Pastor at New Providence Baptist Church, Norphlet, Arkansas for many years. In fact, I joined that church under his stellar leadership on August 7, 1967. I just thought the world of the entire family. I remember how John Henry was so caring of his family. Even though Daddy, Mother, and Sister preceded him in death, they all were beacons of light that shined so brightly. I am truly blessed just to have known them and walk this journey with them.

One of the most intelligent person I have known. Valedictorian of our Class of 1964, football player, and every good thing in high school. But, the greatest of all, a true Christian all days of his earthly life. And I had the honor of his father baptizing me. My Condolences and Prayers to his family.

John and I worked together at Shell, and we also "worked" together in the Boys Rites of Passage Program at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston. John was the consummate professional and gentleman! Brilliant, but humble, and exacting, but caring. His tone, his personality, and his eyes revealed the goodness within him. I'm grateful for our association and friendship through the years. My Condolences and Prayers to Laura, Michael, and Megan. May he Rest in Peace, and his family Be Comforted by God's Grace & Love. Amen

John Rowe was one of the kindest people that I have ever known. When I was a child, his dad was my first Pastor. As a matter of fact, his dad baptized me. John’s mother and my mother were very closely related and were raised almost as sisters. John was the shining example to what was POSSIBLE for this little brown girl growing up! John was brilliant yet so very humble! His beautiful wife, Laura, and he, were a lifeline and island of safety to me in the early 80’s when I lived in Houston for a time. I will never forget his smile, his joking spirit, his eyes, his love and dedication to “family “. Rest on, Big Brother! Thank you for being you. And God bless you, Laura, and you Megan and Michael. I love you all.

John worked for me and always did an outstanding job. I recommended his promotion to Seismic Party Chief. He was a fine geophysicist, and a fine gentleman. I enjoyed his company and his abilities. Sad to see you leave us John.
