Dr. Salinas taught me how to whittle, gave me my first buck knife, taught me how to shoot a rifle and let me drive his riding lawn mower that he was so proud of. I wasn't related to him but he treated me like one of his own grandkids. Hearing about his passing is sad but reading about his impact on the world makes me feel honored to have known him. ~ Jake
