I so enjoyed all the time I got to spend with Dr. Winland. He was a wonderful writer, editor, dentist, mentor, and friend to me. He was so generous and kind to me and all of the editorial team and staff members at the Academy of General Dentistry. I'm grateful to have know him and you! Sending you and your family lots of love. You are in our hearts.

To Dr. Winland's family, I am saddened today to learn of Roger's passing. His editorial and Board influence on the AGD has been so remarkable. May you all feel the arms of the Lord surrounding you in your loss.

Both Raj and me-Manjulika are saddened to see in "The Athens Messenger" of Thursday, August 18th paper, the sad news of Dr. R. D. Winland leaving all of us. We were shocked. We missed this news as we have been busy with our Family Reunion and did not read the paper until yesterday. Also, missed the visitation...

We saw him until he closed his office. Our entire family -our both children Vinita and Vipin were his patients. He was a kind, dedicated, loving gentleman and truly a professional in his field. He took his career seriously. We trusted his words and professional decisions. I did not know he was a scholar in his area of specialization. We never knew the end will be so fast.

Over the years he became a true friend! We reminisced many times the changing age cycles of life- how human beings grow and take several roles in life. Those were fruitful academic discourses.

We will miss him.

Sending my deepest sympathies and prayers on the passing of Roger. When I started with the Nebraska AGD, Roger was one of the first officers I met. He made me feel welcome and a part of the AGD. He touched so many lives and will be deeply missed. I'm so sorry for your loss!

I miss him so much. He was a wonderful editor of AGD Impact. I enjoyed reading
all his Editors,Notes. I miss him a lot. God Rest his Soul.

I served with roger on the AGD board and then as President. He was thoughtful, caring compassionate and gentle not only in his demeanor but also in his spoken word. He was a gentleman who enjoyed conversation over a good meal, and a friend whose advice was on point. He and Debra enjoyed being with their friends as they their friends enjoyed being with them. He was greatly loved and admired and will be missed by his AGD family. Rest In Peace big DADDY.

Roger was a longtime friend who we will miss dearly. He was a thoughtful, kind and generous man and did good things for a lot of people. We will always cherish our special friendship with Roger.
Prayers go out to all his family to get them through this difficult time and to celebrate his life as he would want us to do. ❤

Dr. Winland was a great man, he been my dentist since I was 16 years old until he retired, he will be greatly missed by all his patients. The Family of Dr. Winland are in my thoughts and prayers.

I only had to see Dr. Winland one time he got me in on a moments notice took care of what I needed done and I was out of there. I could not have been more happier.please accept my condolences.

Dr. Winland is a great man. So kind and nice. It was an honor working with him over the 7 years while I was at the AGD. He taught me so much about dentistry and just being an overall mench.

Sorry for your loss. It is a great loss to all.

Every interaction I had with Rodger left me feeling better intellectually or emotionally. I am a better person just having known Rodger. I miss him already. The AGD will miss his gentle guiding hand.

My condolences on Dr. Winland’s passing. He had extracted 2 of my wisdom teeth in the early 80’s. He was a nice man. I am grateful for his service to our country .
