Duane 'Chip' Michael Stahl

Duane 'Chip' Michael Stahl, age 69, of Holland, Ohio passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on October 31, 2022 - which was the 41st wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Becky.

He was born on January 18, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Florence (Kreischer) Stahl. Chip was a graduate of Whitmer High School and The University of Toledo. He was a long-time employee of the Mercy Health System, making a difference at both Mercy Hospital and St. Vincent's Medical Center where he was a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, serving in both the adult and pediatric Cath Labs. From 1985 to 1994, Chip also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Springfield Township Fire Department Station #3.

He enjoyed fishing, biking, traveling, swimming, reading, beach walking, anything on the water, being at his Naples, Florida home, cheering for the Cleveland Browns and the Toledo Mud Hens, and most of all spending time with his friends and family. He was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Parish, Wolf Creek YMCA, and Merickel-Farley Trout Club.

Chip was the best Papa, always playing with his grandchildren and attending their special events. His grandsons, Mathew and Reed, particularly enjoyed him taking them to swim lessons, cleaning the pool together at home, and trips to McDonald's. His grandchildren, Gracie and Jonathan, loved reading stories with their Papa.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca (Morfier) Stahl; children, Abigail (Brad) Cymbola, Joseph (Katie) Stahl; daughters from a previous marriage, Caralee Levinson and Erin Snyder; grandchildren, Mathew and Reed Cymbola, Gracie and Jonathan Stahl; sisters, Tamara 'Tammy' (Roy) Jackson, and Belinda 'Lindy' (Dale) Eubank. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Edith Morfier, sister-in-law, Kathy Morfier, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Arlan Manrow.

Chip was preceded in death by his parents; stillborn sister, Sharon Stahl; father-in-law, Charles 'Red' Morfier; and brother-in-law, Chuck Morfier.

Chip is remembered as being kind, loving, and selfless. He was the first to volunteer to help and never asked for anything in return.

A Funeral Mass will be held 11am on Friday, November 11, 2022, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church; 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio. The family will greet visitors beginning at 10am in the church narthex. There will be a luncheon to follow.
