I sat down at the computer and searched for Duane Eddy tunes on the net. Wow, a great live version of Cannon Ball, and then Dixie, Because They're Young, and Wildwood Flower. Sounds just as good now as when the songs were cut back in the fifties and sixties. So what's Duane up to these days was on my mind as I began my search but was shocked and saddened at the notice of Duane's passing. In reading some of the comments written by his acquaintances, friends, and family, Duane was a special person in so many ways. In my music room above our garage are pictures of very special (to me) entertainers and composers. Duane's photo will certainly be placed on my Wall of Honor. My sincerest condolences to Duane's family.

Godspeed Duane, a long life well lived, and thank you for the wonderful film, TV, and especially the wonderful music memories, and some of the anthems of my youth, and beyond. Unforgettable. Again, thank you Duane, and unforgettable.

Bought my first Duane Eddy single ( Cannonball ) in 1959. It was the first of many ! I've followed Duane since then, seeing him in concerts in the U.K. on many occasions was always a great experience. He was gracious enough to make time for fans and my wife and I were fortunate to meet up with him and his lovely wife Deed in Nashville some years back for dinner. Losing this guy is like losing a big brother. A huge musical influence on me personally and the stimulus for me to take up guitar many years ago. He will be missed not just as a musician but, perhaps more importantly, as a genuinely nice man. R.I.P. Duane and thanks for all the great musical memories, the soundtrack to my life.

The time when he came to visit his family in Towanda. I was 12 years old. He came to see our family, especially our beloved Great Grandmother Daisy Eddy. (She was the BEST EVER, great grandmother by the way!) He visited us at our campground at Sunfish Pond and we all listened to his music. What a fun time that was! I also was able to see him many times on tv and also very blessed to have another visit with he and his wife, Deed about 8 years ago. We were so lucky to hear him play some of his best hits in person! Yay! Our family visited Laquin too, where Duane´s father, Uncle Lloyd, my Great Uncle Glenn and my grandfather were born. What a fun time that was! Duane will be missed by so many ppl, especially his family in Towanda.

Some time ago my partner ted Palmer, his mother Iris and myself went to see Duane in concert at great Yarmouth in a circus theatre. At the end of the show, Duane was signing autographs. Ted asked Duane if he would say hello to Iris who was still sitting down, she wasn't allowed to climb the small platform, so Duane got up and climbed over, I remember deed shouting oh my gosh what is Duane doing? Duane greeted Iris with a big kiss on the cheek. I remember Duane saying someone was taking a picture of Duane and Iris but I don't know who? We never had a camera so couldn't take a photo. I and ted would love to have a copy of the photo, as when we tell anyone Iris met Duane noone would believe us. I know Phil pell was there filming also. That whole evening was sensational. God bless you Duane, you made an elder lady happy that day. The next morning in the hotel room she was still hugging Duane's photo, saying what a lovely man. Yes, Duane you were an inspiration to all, an excellent guitarist who will be sadly missed. Deepest sympathies to deed and family at this sad time. God bless. RIP Duane. Kind regards Ted Palmer and Shirley Morgan, Selly Oak, Birmingham, United Kingdom. Ted is a member of the UK Duane Eddy Circle.

As a kid I loved his music. When I watched him perform one day on TV, likely a Dick Clark show, he became my big crush and I push Fabian aside for him. About eight years ago I discovered his music again and started catching up to his career and what I'd missed. He's the last of the surviving R&R trailblazers and I feel like the volume is now concluded. A very strange feeling. RIP, Duane, and enjoy all those eternal concerts Up There.

As a youngster, I bought all of his albums and wore them all out. Later, as a so-called air personality, I was fortunate enough to play his music on the air waves. In my years in the educational field, I taught his grandsons in class and got to meet and talk with him at a school function. Even though I was in my 50's at the time, it was a thrill to speak with him. Great talent that can't be replaced! My condolences to his family.

Years ago I was a limo driver in Atlantic City NJ I drove the everly bros and Mr Eddy the same time. I mentioned to Mr Eddy I played as well, Without missing a beat he pulled out his guitar and handed it to me, I was
In shock,
I sat in the back of the limo in front of these rock gods playing the rabble rouser´s guitar! How many people can say that? What a great guy. He gave a nobody limo driver the thrill of this life or any other.

I was 14 years old when I first heard Rebel Rouser and I became a real fan thereafter with shelves full of albums and 45's here at home in the UK to prove it. Last night I had just heard about Duane's passing when my wife (who knew nothing of Duane's passing) returned home from her art class to show me an amazing painting she had created that evening. It is of a man in the twilight walking away from the viewer along a path in a copse of trees in the moon light towards the light. For me that painting said it all. RIP Duane I never met you but I felt as though I knew you.

To see the painting of you
Covering the whole outside
