Duane WENSTROM Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and great friend, Duane Wenstrom. Duane passed away suddenly in his home on Friday, March 8, 2013. Duane was born on December 4, 1955 in Calgary and grew up in Langdon, Alberta. He attended Chestermere High School and then pursued a heavy duty mechanic diploma at SAIT. After graduating he began working in the family fuel and fertilizer business until the year 2000. From 2000 to present day Duane established and ran his own successful fuel business, Bowridge Petro Ltd. Duane married Cristina in 1981 and they raised three beautiful daughters together. He was an extremely kind, honest and generous man whom everyone loved to be around. Duane was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand. His passions were his family, tinkering on his land with his dogs at his side and riding his motorcycle. Duane is survived by his loving wife, Cristina Santillo, three daughters Lisa, Stephanie and Carmen; three brothers, Gilbert (Patricia), Bob (Donna), and Ronnie; mother-in-law Maria Santillo; sister-in-law Lora Greco; brother-in-law Lorenzo (Teresa) Santillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Duane was predeceased by his parents Ed and Torrie Wenstrom, father-in-law Carmine Santillo, and brother-in-law Anthony Greco. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Duane's life on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca Street S.E., Calgary) at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Calgary Humane Society (4455 - 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB, T2C 2T7).
