Duc and I began work with the U.S. General Services Administration in Texas at about the same time, as GSA Project Managers & Contracting Officer's Representatives. Although Duc being out of Houston, he may have begun a year or so before my arrival in 1986 at GSA in Fort Worth. From the late 80s until the late 90s I believe Duc was supervised by Brian Lawrence (as I was). We really became to know one another via the conferences and training seminars we attended related to our work. Duc always impressed me as a hard worker, very sharp and productive in his position.
In about 2000 GSA underwent a reorganization and we lost touch (to a large extent). I believe his work was concentrated in the Houston area, as mine was in Fort Worth as well as West Texas. Although from time-to-time we would see one another during Project Manger conferences and discuss the current state of our work.
Then in about late 2019, due to organizational realignment, He and I were reassigned, working in the same small projects group under Thomas Robins. Due to the realignment, again, Duc and I would, from time-to-time converse regarding our projects and related technical matters. I always found Duc helpful and sharing of useful suggestions and ideas. I will miss that.
Sometime, not long before his passing, he called me. Due to other commitments I could not talk. I told him I would call him back. I did, unfortunately a few days latter, but could not reach him, only later to learn of his passing, of which I am greatly saddened by. I truly will miss his good counsel.
My heartful sympathy,
David Cockrell

It is with a heavy heart that we express our deepest sympathy to Duc's family and friends. Duc was a nice guy, good spirit and could get along with anyone. He is already missed. I will always cherish the great conversations about family and our visions for them. It was a pleasure to work with him as a coworker and someone I considered a friend.

Our deepest condolences and prayers are with the Le family. Chu Duc was an excellent instructor, mentor, and caring individual. I consider Duc a key figure in my adolescence and attribute much of my growth and development to his nurturing spirit. My most cherished memories include his guidance through Vo Vi Nam and the life lessons he imparted to me. My mother, Thuy, and I pray for your family's peace and comfort during these difficult times.

Our sincerest condolences to the Le Family. Duc was a great colleague and a pleasure to converse with, especially when managing projects at some of our historic buildings. I fondly recall Duc meeting me at several of our historic buildings in Beaumont and Houston asking how we could make them better without compromising their historic character. We will miss working with Duc but he will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Thuy and I are so saddened to hear the shocking news of the loss of your beloved Duc. I am glad I was one of the mutual friends that introduced you two in San Antonio many years ago. From the sweet and eloquent story of his life written by your children, you two have wonderful loving children that will carry on his legacy. We are so sorry for your loss. You and your loved ones will be in our thoughts and prayers. Wishing you find some peace and comfort to help you cope.

Coach Duke was my volleyball coach for around 4 years. However, not only was he my coach but he was my friend. He never failed to put a smile on my face throughout practices and tournaments. He believed in my teammates and I even when we didn’t believe in ourselves. He would even come watch me play volleyball at my school. He was a great guy and will be missed very dearly! Praying for your family.
