How extraordinary it is to have lifelong memories of a teacher! Mr. Nee demystified physics for me in exciting ways at Mather High School in Chicago. Teaching my own son about trajectory, I was able to draw upon the most amazing Rube Goldberg contraption, "The Monkey and the Hunter," that Mr Nee built and demonstrated for the class. The Doppler Effect was explained via a simple sound box which, unfortunately ended in a minor disaster, but indelibly marked me with the concept. He was so excited by his work and he could communicate that impeccably. I do some teaching. It´s hard at times. Some people are "naturals" at it. Dudley Nee was, most certainly...

During a class in geometry at Lane Tech, a student asked Dudley (Mr. Nee then) "Why do we need to study this subject?" Dudley replied, "If nothing else, geometry should give you a foundation for a logical system of thought".
I have used that advice ever since.

He was a wonderful neighbor, along with being a great teacher! He was very loved by his students. May he rest in peace...job well done Dudley.

I was in Mr Knee's geometry class. He was absolutely my favorite teacher in high school---both a great teacher and he was one of those teachers who made class fun. I have actually thought of him quite often over the years.

Liked him a million years ago as a teacher at Mather. Just a really good guy. Condolences to his family.

My most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dudley Nee who was my science teacher at Mather High School 63 years ago. Mr. Nee was an entertaining and a well-liked teacher. I will never forget his lecture in physics while he stood on a counter in the lab.

James and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your wonderful dad lived behind (across the alley) my family's home for years. He was always so kind and friendly. Then, when I used to babysit for you and Laurence, your dad was always so nice and reassuring. We always had great conversations when he would drive me home. What a wonderful man he was! Always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. May he rest in peace!
