MR D. BURRELL
(of Worksop)
MR DUNCAN Burrell, of Boscombe Road, has passed away peacefully after a short illness at Bassetlaw Hospice, aged 65.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy, devoted father to Tracy and grandpa to Joshua and Connor.
Born in Sunderland and educated in Sheffield, he worked for Sheffield Steel until 1967 when he moved with his parents to Chesterfield. He then joined the Merchant Navy as Third Engineer Officer for two years. In 1969, Duncan worked for Robinson's of Chesterfield where he met his wife Dorothy. They married in 1970 and lived in Tapton, Chesterfield. Duncan then worked for S. and J. Kitchen as a mechanical technician. In 1971, they had daughter Tracy and moved to Worksop. In 1978, Duncan worked for Nestle UK and then for Moeller Manufacturing until he took retirement.
Duncan enjoyed attending Apple Fitness Centre, caravanning, DIY, cars and watches.
In 2002, he bought a house in Spain where he and Dorothy enjoyed long holidays, DIY, eating out and relaxing around their pool.
A church service conducted by Rev Paddy McBain at St Anne's Church, Worksop, was held on 15th September 2009, followed by cremation at Brimington Crematorium, Chesterfield.
