Dustin Watson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 18, 2009.
Dustin K. Watson, 20, of Palatine Bridge, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Albany Medical Center after injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Born on December 26, 1988 in Amsterdam, he was the son of Polly Collins and Kevin Watson. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Canajoharie Central in 2007. An athletic individual, Dustin excelled in golf, basketball and football during his high school career. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowboarding and snowmobiling; but his true passion was four wheeler racing. He was a jack of all trades, holding several jobs throughout his life. He even enjoyed cooking as a sous chef at the renown, Church & Main Restaurant in Canajoharie. Above all he loved his family and friends, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His family includes, his mother, Polly Collins of Palatine Bridge and her companion James Hart; his father Kevin Watson of Fort Plain; his siblings, Shyanna Logan and Noah Watson; his maternal grandparents, Jane and Willard “Doc” Davis and Richard “Dickie” Collins and his wife Nora all of Palatine Bridge; paternal grandparents, Kay Watson and Keith Watson, both of Fort Plain; god parents, Richard Collins of Palatine Bridge and Stephanie Watson- Shepard of Canajoharie; his girlfriend, Shauna Mills; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie with the Rev. Kenneth Swain presiding. Burial will follow in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 3 until 7p.m. on Friday afternoon at the funeral home. Dustin was a giving individual who always gave others a chance. He unselfishly gave 5 other people the chance of a better life through organ donation. In lieu of any flowers, the family wishes that contributions be made to an educational fund for his siblings, Shyanna Logan or Noah Watson in care of the funeral home office.
