Betty, Guy, Kevin and Diana,
A small tribute to Dwain:
I just wanted to let you know that you were loved by so many folks. You would have been so proud of the service. It was just perfect. When Diana, Guy and Kevin spoke of their Dad, it brought tears of joy to my eyes...reflecting on the many great days we all had together playing football behind PTs stadium, throwing dirt clods where we shouldn't have, sharing stories in recent years and knowing that you were there in the stands watching my HS baseball teams compete. The fondest memory though, has to be when you and I sat down to watch a PT Baseball game just last year. My son, Lane, hit a go ahead rbi double and you complimented him...and then added, he runs a little faster than you did. ha. I enjoyed picking your brain for football and baseball strategies and listening to your thoughts during the game. I will always remember the coaching tips you unintentionally gave me, from saying you don't have to be the best player, but try like heck to be...from hearing you teach about staying focused long before it was used in today's game...to the determination and passion you displayed for anything you did. Those things were inspiring. You were a great husband, a great dad, grandad and a great friend. You made many people's lives better on this earth. As the Godly leader of your family, your legacy will live on through them. I praise the Lord for you having been a part of my life and letting me partake in so many great memories with you and your wonderful family. I will think of you often as I have over the years. I can just see you singing, playing and praising!

Dearest Betty and family,
May your memories bring you comfort. My memories help, although I hated giving him up. Well, God, he is in your hands now, so I'll say "I'll meet you in Heaven and you can hold my hand crossing the street."

Well "D-wane" I suppose by now you've found a softball team in heaven, since we've joked for years about Genesis 1:1 started out quoting the "big inning". We played many, many games against each other whether you were playing for Parkway and me for Greggton or just for different teams in the city league. I always looked forward to it because of your sportsmanship and humor. I will miss you greatly, but I do look forward to seeing you again in Heaven as we know thru Faith God allows us that place in heaven where our bodies become perfect and whole again and sin can not exist.

I count it an honor to have had the priviledge to sing and play music with Dwain. What a beautiful tenor voice and a pretty good "picker" on the guitar. Dwain has left a legacy of Christian beliefs and love of family that will remain in our memories for years to come. The Hardin family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Kevin and family: Those of us who are fortunate enough to have our parents can only imagine the pain and grief that you feel. Thus, what we CAN do--and ARE doing--is keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. We pray that you can remember most the good times and rejoice in the knowledge that your dad can now watch over you and yours in the presence of our Lord and Savior. May peace be with you.

Dear Betty, Diana and family,
Our family sends love and prayers to you. We will always remember Dwain's affection for his Aunts and your annual Mother's Day round up of the sisters to take them to lunch wearing their corsage. The thoughtfulness behind that act and the special memories that were created will always be cherished.
Love to you,

I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to everyone...Betty, Guy, Kevin, Diana, grandchildren, and all the family - My thoughts and prayers are with you. Some of my fondest memories growing up were of Dwain, my Dad, and all the neighborhood kids playing football on Sundays/Holidays. I tell people all the time what a great neighborhood I grew up in, and Dwain was a big part of that experience! I think the qualities I will remember most about Dwain were his positive spirit, and encouraging personality! Whether it was sports related, playing his guitar, or just his infectious optimism, I know he will be greatly missed, and my heartfelt condolences go out to the entire family.
