Marde, Patti, Rick & Bill,
Beverly & I wish to extend our condolences on the death of your father. I don't remember ever meeting any of you. A little history your grandmother, Grace Borg, and my dad were a very close brother and sister, and we lived about 10 miles apart in Holt County NE. As kids we played together a lot. I was about the same age as Helen, so I knew Dwayne from the time he was born.
During WWII I was drafted into the Navy and on discharge remained in California, where I went to work for the phone company in Eureka, CA., and became separated from the people in NE.
Wen your dad became 3M's representative for the Western States, he and Mickie would stop and visit me & my wife, Beverly, in Eureka, CA. After I retired, Beverly and I came to Edina to visit, your mom and dad, and he took me golfing and showd us the Golf course he helped start, a beautiful place.
After your dad retired and moved to La Quinta, CA, he & your mother invited us to come visit them in their new home, a beautiful place, on a golf course. We played a round of golf riding in the very nice golf cart you kids bought for him.
We were very close cousins. Love to you and your families.

Rick, Pat, Marde, Bill
I just heard the sad news of your father's passing. I offer my sincere condolences. Dwayne was a good man whose personality and philosophies were extra ordinary. He touched so many including myself and will never be forgotten nor will his teachings and quotes. I wish you all well through this difficult time and want you to know Dwayne will be in my thoughts on June 15.

Dwayne was my neighbor briefly (and Mickie) but I had known them for years before that. They were the sweetest couple and treated me like I was the special one! God has two amazing angels now and we were all blessed to have had the pleasure of their company for such a short little while. My deepest sympathy to you all!

My heartfelt sympathy to you all. It was a privilege to work for a company conceived by such a great guy. I already had a go-around in several different work experiences but working for DCD was the best job I ever had. There was such an aura of community and good will among the employees and customers. The family involvement certainly influenced the aura of the workplace. Back when there were just 40 of us it was like an extended family. Rest in peace, Dwayne.

I was fortunate to have met him, albeit briefly. At age 22 I started at DCD as Dwayne was departing. During his retirement party I had my first personal exposure to what it might mean to truly create a legacy. In the following years, working (and playing) with Rick and Bill I knew for certain that legacy instinct was correct, and I was fortunate to be a part of it. Today, still a part of the company that Dwayne built, I am humbled by the opportunities and successes made available to me and so many around me by his thoughts and deeds. It is a worthy goal to live a life which positively affects so many souls.
Thank you Dwayne and the Borg family for contributing so much to so many.
Work hard, play hard.

Dwayne Borg, aka : The Iron Duke, the Borgster, Borgie.
And a few more names that I won't mention.
He lived the American dream and he deserved all of it.
A brilliant mind with a tremendous work and play ethic.
No one raised a finer bunch of kids and grandkids, but I guess
we can blame Mickie for most of that. :) He's with her now. Nice !!
A story, just one although there were many, Queen's course at
Glen Eagle in Scotland, the Duke had a putt of about 1 foot 9 inches,
on the 18th, it was almost dark. (second 18 of the day). Is it good, he asked ?
NO, said two of us. He missed it, never talked to any of us for three days,
was peaceful and quiet on the golf course. :) Am I sorry about that now that he's
gone… NAAAA…
Dwayne was a dear friend of mine for over 30 years. You always could count on him
for anything you needed. Generous to a fault and ALWAYS fun to be with,
less he was on the opposite side in a foursome match. There his handicap was one
that should have come with a six gun strapped to his side. :)
Where you really wanted Dwayne as a partner was in a gin game. He was a mentor for
most of us. Many were proud to say that they learned gin at “the knee of the
Borgster”.
Love you, Dwayne, glad our pathes were so intertwined over the years.
See you on the course, hopefully not TOO soon.
God bless you and Mickie !!!
