Dwight Qawi Obituary
He was a world champion in two weight classes: in light heavyweight from 1981 to 1983 and in cruiserweight later in the decade.
Qawi is being remembered for turning his life around after spending time in prison as a young man, ultimately landing in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

To the family Of the late Dwight Muhammad Quwi, I wish to offer my deepest condolences on your great loss. I always thought that Mr. Quwi was one of the most ferocious, determined and hardest fighting and defending champions to include all boxers and weight divisions. Even today I could see him competing VERY well among all light heavyweights. Now at rest in the arms of God may he rest in peace as I wish you the family, GOD BLESS YOU !!

So deserved to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. He was my dad´s favorite boxer of all time. This brings back so many great memories. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
