Dwight was a wonderful guy. I knew him in his younger years. Truly a blessing to have had the privilege of knowing Dwight! A tremendous loss to everyone. Prayers for his wife and children; Ann, his sister; and all his family as this is truly a sad time. Dwight touched many lives in his short 51 years.

Big D, that's what I always called you. Partly because of your height, but most importantly because of your big heart. And also because of the big role you played in my life and the rest of our family. And I say our family because that has always been what you were, a part of the family. You have always been another brother to me. I knew I could always call you when I needed either some odd job help at the house or just needed someone to talk to. And you always knew I would answer your call whenever you needed something. My life has been much the better with our friendship all these many years. The many times shooting pool together, fishing expeditions, and times just hanging out at the campgrounds. I'm going to miss you dearly brother, but I find comfort that one day we will meet again in heaven. Maybe there we can pick up a pole and you can watch me catch the biggest fish all over again, hahaha. I know, I don't think I ever out fished you, but I enjoyed every one of those times dearly. Going to miss you bud, I could have never asked for a better friend (brother)...

My thoughts and prayers to the Waits family. I first met Dwight in the first grade and he continued to be my friend until we graduated HS. At times I may have felt that I had no other friends, but Dwight was always there, putting his hand out to me and saying I am your friend!! No matter what, Dwight tried to be everyone's friend. As with most of my other classmates, our lives journeys caused us to lose touch after HS graduation but that doesn't take away from the impact that he had on my life. Having lost touch, I wasn't aware of how Dwight stayed at home, built a business, touched so many lives and was so giving of his time and money. Reading through all the comments about all the giving things Dwight has done and the lives he touched, I am not surprised, it's the Dwight I knew and will always remember. It's truly sad to see such a kind and giving person be taken from this world too early.

Dwight, my fondness memories of you are in conjunction with our son Chris. After all, if you hadn't caught him at birth, he would have fallen on the floor! And I'll never forget the pride in your voice when you told me that we had a son. You were a great father to all the boys and friend to SO many. Part of me will always love you. Till we meet again at Jesus's feet...

I am shocked and truly saddened by the news of Dwight's passing. I've known Dwight since early childhood. We attended the same schools growing up, spent countless hours at each other's home, were in Cub Scouts together and school sport activities over the years. After graduation, I always enjoyed running into Dwight when I came back in town. He was always one of the hardest working persons you would ever come across who had zero quit in him. I'm sure with his HVAC business, Dwight often let people pay him when they could, because he enjoyed helping others. Dwight was a fine example of Proverbs 22:1. After Bama beat UGA, Dwight was quick to Facebook me a Roll Tide.
My deepest sympathy goes out to Dwight's family. He was a good man! RIP buddy.

Deb and Family, my deepest, deepest condolences.
I have known Dwight since the 90's when he worked with Mr. Thompson. I was a customer for years, but more important, Dwight was such a good friend and such a gentle soul. I always thought he didn't charge enough and would send him home with some morel mushrooms! One time he traded me fish for mushrooms!
I remember when Dwight and Deb 'found' each other- he was sooo thrilled- no truer love. While fixing my furnace, he would so proudly talk about all of you and how lucky he was... May you find your peace and comfort.

Dwight was one of the sweetest, most kindest man you would ever want to meet.
( with a hint of ornery on the side, which made you love him all the more )
He will sadly be missed by all that knew him.
Thoughts and prayers.
Rest in peace.

It is an honor and blessing to have known Dwight and to have him as a friend. He made this world a better place with his genuine smile and unmatched kindness. My heart aches. I pray that his family finds comfort and peace and that Dwight's legacy lives on in all the lives he improved with his selfless love for others. I know you will keep the hearth warm until we meet again, friend!

How do I fit all the things I want to say about my brother in this tiny box? You have been so special to me, from the moment I held you for my 12th birthday present to the jokes, laughter, and fishing stories we shared. We were the fishing nuts,a gift from our dad. To being humble enough to honor a bet and wear a Ohio State shirt with a huge smile on his face! Bud, I'm gonna miss you to pieces! May God bless all the family, friends, and customers with His Love,Strength, Comfort and Peace. Until we meet again, I know you'll find the best fishing holes and will share them with me and the competition will start again. Love ya, Bro!

Goodness is about character, integrity, honesty and genuine kindness. More than anything else, it is about how we treat people. All characteristics possessed by Dwight. I am a better person for having known him.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. R.I.P. dear friend.

Dwight,
I remember you as a very caring and kind young man. I haven't seen you since high school but from what I can tell from Facebook you haven't changed a bit. There is no doubt that this world is a better place because of you. Your family and friends will surely miss you.

My wonderful little brother-I remember how excited I was to have a little brother to love and take care of!! I will never forget how I would take you most weekends to my church group activities and then to church and how everyone of my friends accepted you as one of our group. I will also never forget how you and took a bus ride to New Orleans and then up to Kansas and Missouri and how you took care of me with my swollen feet. I will never forget how you went with Karen and me to Gatlinsburg and then to Karen's home and the fun about the mushrooms were poison . I will never forget taking you down to meet Jim before I married him and how you took care of Dad and Mom after I left home. I am so glad you supported Jim and me by coming to cantata and other ways.
I will always miss you, but it is not goodbye it is
seeing you later in heaven!!!!! Say hi to all who have already gone ahead and tell them I still love them and miss them!!

Dwight was truly an Angel on Earth. He has been a dear friend since Kindergarten in Beavercreek. He never knew a stranger and always put others before himself. I will miss our fishing, bonfires, and laughing until dawn. Please make sure I always get some of those "trained minnows", Dwight!! Thank you for being you... Rest well old friend... Until we meet again. Prayers for comfort to Deb and all the family.

Dwight was a great man, who blessed a lot of people. I am so grateful that I got to know him when his son, Chris, married my daughter, Kathleen. He was never an "in-law," but a brother and a friend. Rest in Heaven, my friend, and we will see you on the other side.
